Well my oil catch can drain is loose ON THE ENGINE BLOCK. For those of you that don't know what that is its the thing in the back of the sr that the stock catch can drains into. When i boost it sprays oil onto the turbo. I was thinking about using JB WELD but i says its good only to 600 degrees and it gets really hot under there so i thought i would post this and see if anyone knows of anything like JB WELD that can stand up to more heat.

The other option is to get a AN fitting and weld it on there. I would rather just get something like jb weld and put it on there.

any suggestions would help.....

try that jb stick puddy shit. its in a tube, u pinch off a piece, kneed it together between ur fingers, then stick it over whatever u want patched. drys hard rock like a cock in minutes. i have it holding a hole in my oil pan lol

oh ok, that part. sorry...dont have a spare block. :keke:

jb weld would be fine. it doesnt get to that temperature there. only about 250 degs. the radiant heat is higher but that is ok.

That tube you are referring to is just a steel tube that is press fit into the hole. I would just pull it out, swedge it a bit, and press it back in.

can't pull it out with the head on the block....

I know it might not get that hot there but i want to over do it ya know...anyone have anything like a industrial jb weld?

Is this not exactly JB weld? i have only seen it in a tube.

Dang.. luke thanks i didnt know it pressed in there. I was hopin the motor i just bought didnt have it broken. (along with other things not being broken) The last one was broke(years ago), so i used jb weld to seal it up. Worked fine.

yea. its just pressed in. just like the breather T fitting in the valve cover.

bypasss the catch can and just run a hose from the hole on the block to the valve cover, it wont leak and it really makes no difference. its just a crank case breather anyways.

is there any little "tricks" to getting those beasts out? either the t fitting, or the one for the catch can fitting.

kinda like if ya have a exhaust mani stud break you can tack weld a nut to it and usually the stud comes right out. So ya dont have to drill the shit.

well usually just find something of similar size to stick in the tube.then wiggle, wiggle, wobble, wobble, until it starts to come out.

Once loose you can use a slide hammer if need be.

Good shit. I used it to make a false firewall patch for the monster hole the harness comes through, since my tire ripped the grommet out and shredded it like a pig at the BBQ festival. Sandwiched a metal mesh body patches between two layers of it. There's pics/write up somewhere on here. Yeah, good shit. Make sure you have a cup of water handy. Keepin the fingers wet helps handle it and smooth it. She likes it that way. :p
