yeah so while im still looking for answers about my JDM hud problems that you should be looking at and helping me with.. hehe yeah ok guys so i have another jelly filled question.

my KA24DE seems like its going to die soon and i really need a new engine to replace it. so like any other ZIlvia junkie it was pretty obvious that i NEEDED the SR. but when i was looking at porn... i meant... SR stuff i noticed alot of people wanted the S15 SR20, but it requires so much work! so why not the S14 SR right? im not really looking to get into too much trouble with the car and its not going to be *BUILT* super tuff. i just want an SR with stock turbo that has lots of good power and that i can add like other stuff to it.
so... will an S14 SR20 fit in to an S13 chasis?
will this affect my Strawberry face?
whats so good about VVT? arent the S13 SRs stronger anyway?
wheres my dog? skippy! where are yooooooooou?!

stock for stock the s14 is faster.....bigger turbo and faster spool.....plus the VVT does add quite a bit more power.....i saw a 30hp and 35ftlb loss when i unpluged it on a dyno.....get the s14 engine....plus it is just a little easier to install than the s13 IMO.......

so we are sure the s14 SR fits into the s13 chasis? becasue people say, "yeah it'll fit but the wiring is different, and you cant use your... blah blah blah." now is this true? becasue i just wanted to use the Stock S14 SR in my 91 coupe and boost the turbo to 10psi. thats all i want. i know if i boost the S13 SR its nowhere near the same power as the S14 but i know about the S13s "high port intake thingy" thanks yall! S14 here we go!

but will it look stock and can i use everything?

you can still keep your AC if you want....but most choose not to...i lost my wiper dealy function....so wither my wipers are on or off......talk to the people at www.srswap.com.....they will give you all the details you need......i really don't feel like typing right now....

civickilla has an S14 w/ S14 SR20DET.

You should be able to retain all accessories except possibly A/C.. well there's probably a way to fit AC as well but it might involve some custom work.

Heavy Throttle (http://www.srswap.com/) would definitely be the people to talk to in this case, or possibly SR20Store (http://www.sr20store.com/) as their poster car is an S13 with an S14 motor, the red Silvia-faced coupe featured in the May '02 "Drift Machine" issue of SCC.

I think the S14 engine is a great choice.

By the way it's not fair to say that the VCT added 30hp, except to say it added 30hp over an engine with the VCT present but disconnected. Its main reason for living is to boost bottom-end drivability and make the turbo spool faster.

you WILL have a harder time intalling an s14 into your s13. Just like my s13 was harder to install into my s14 than Johnathans s14 to s14. When you mix engines and chasis things get a tad bit harder. Most of it if not all is due to wiring.

Is it possible to get A/C with the S14 SR20DET in a S14?

I really want to go for the S14, but I needed the A/C for any girl that rides with me in the summer.

Because I don't want to hear "you have a nice car, but you don't have any damn A/C!!!"

Its possible to keep AC. Talk to Davies2k, look in the for sale section for his actual handle on zilvia. Its the thread about the clips from 1900-2300 starting or something like that. Hes from So Cal area, I will more than likely be doing my swap through him... since he is able to do them in a day. He charges an extra 200 to retain the AC, and I believe he just said its a little bit of welding, and you're done...

i got an S14 SR20DET in my S13, looks fine sitting in there, like stock almost. My only gripe is that i got this funny idle thingy going on. It idles high, once i get it figured out, I'll be relly happy. i opted to ditch the AC since i'm predominantly a show car, plus i wanna go faster, lol. but the swap is jusr as easy as doing an S13DET, only the wiring gets hairy if you wanna use the VTC- need full S14 harness, but its worth it, believe me
