i searched but came up with nothing.

when i turn my s13 at low speeds i get a gnarly squeek, and sometimes a grind, im pretty sure its wheel bearings. anyone know what i need to pick up at the dealership to fix it? do i need new hubs or do i just ask for wheel bearings, and how tuff is it to do? thanks <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':thumbsup:'>

I am not sure whether or not it's the same for the S13 chasis, but with my S14 I had to replace the entire hub. I ran up to about $300 for parts and service at the dealership.

If it is indeed your wheel bearings, judging from the pictures in my FSM, you will need to replace the hub, in which the wheel bearings are built in.
That said, however, are you sure it's not something else? I'd try to make sure it's really the bearings and exhaust all other options before replacing your hub(s).
Could it be your tire rubbing the fender lining?
With your front on jackstands (or a jack), grab the wheel/tire by the sides, and shake it around. Is there any play or looseness in the wheel/tire/suspension? if there is, it could very well be your bearings/hub.

well ive got about an inch and a half fender gap, im sure its not the tires rubbing. it could be my springs though making noice, i actually think it is the springs and the bearings cause there is a couple different noises. im swapping on new rotors and pads in a couple days so ill be able to check it out further.

so ill have to buy a couple hubs if it is my wheel bearings huh?

To check for sure if its your bearings, jack up the car and remove the tire. &nbsp;Make sure the brakes aren't grabbing then see if you can turn the rotor with your hand. &nbsp;If it can move easily and w/o any resistence or noise, then it should be okay. &nbsp;

On the S14, the front hubs need to be replaced if its the bearings, but maybe they can be pressed out, i dunno. &nbsp;I'd recommend replacing the hub tho. &nbsp;I dunno about the rears, but i heard that the bearings come out.
