everytime i free rev. my engine my bov sound comes out of my intake...what does that mean?? its like a chattering noise comming straight out of my filter, my turbo is pretty blown out, its got really really bad shaft play and the insides are blown out, could that be the problem? im using a greddy type rs BOV,

let me guess is the bov on the hot pipe side?

that would be compressor surge.... and yes that can damage your turbo...

loosen the spring on your blow off valve if it allows you to do so

no my bov is not on my hot pipe its on the pipe by my throttle body

Either your BOV is re-circulated or you are having compressor surge. If you have compressor surge, you either have the vacuum lines hooked up incorrectly or your BOV spring is adjusted too stiff.

well this is how i have my vacuum lines hooked up...waste gate is on the right top side nipple bov is on the bottom nipple and my FPR is hooked up to the left top nipple...please someone help

sometimes people that mount their bov's near the throttle body find that they get more compressor surge because it's farther away from the compressor side itself and it can surge more before the bov can let it all out, that may be your case.

would it be possible that my turbo is making it surge because its so messed up?? im new to turbo stuff so bare with me..haha

I doubt it's surging because it's "messed up". The turbo has to build pressure to actually surge, so it seems as though the turbo is working as it should. It sounds like it's either a faulty/misadjusted BOV, its placement of a combination of the two.

something else to try, rev your engine and put your hand at the end of you bov and see if any air comes out at all, that should tell you something

well i took my turbo off.. but if i did put my hand infront of my bov and it didnt allow air out would that mean that its not adjusted right??

either that or it isnt getting the correct vaccum signal, i know on my greddy type-s, you are not supposed to use the smaller nipple on the bottom, if you do it does not function, try using the top nipple only if you have two. also, why did you take your turbo off?

because my turbo has shaft play like a mad man!! hahathe turbine touched the housing a little

The bottom nipple sees boost, vac at part throttle. Hook the wastegate to the bottom and bov to the top right done!

If there is wheel to housing contact DON'T keep running the car. You risk pieces or aluminum shavings getting ingested in your engine and rebuilding that turbo will be impossible.
On another note, it does sound as though your BOV is either misadjusted or you have the wrong vacuum signal.

my turbo has been off my car for a while, im thinking about getting a GT28R s15 turbo, would i need new oil and coolant lines?? and how much modification do i need to do to make it work?

You really should figure out your present issue before you put a brand new expensive turbo on their and just keep giving it compressor surge. Go buy a used t25.

im pretty sure that my turbo was surging becaise my BOV was hooked up to the bottom nipple on the trottle body and my trottly plate kept getting stuck closed because its not adjusted and theres a little vacuum hole right at the bottom of the trottle body

well, you should always stick to the safe side with these things, but if you feel comfortable with it then by all means go for it...
