hey guys. I am doing a rebuild on a redtop soon. In the past i just ran JE pistons, because i got a good price on them. This time i am looking at all different options, trying to get feedback from people who have had problems with them, or good things. Not just on the JE pistions, but on all types.
I have been considering a few different types. They are:

JE pistons
CP pistons
Weisco pistons
Mahle pistons

there is a review on the Mahle, but its the only review i could find and i spent like 45 min searchin for it.. So.. if you have swapped out pistons, which are you running, any problems, or does anyone have any links to another site where/if this has been disgussed previously..?

Edit.. Shit this should probably go in the engine tech section..

i'd say forget the JE, cuz they are the "entry level" forged pistons, quality isn't not as good. i've heard nothing but good things about the CP and weisco pistons!! never had feedback about Mahle, so i can't give my 2 sents....

and just so you get an idea, my main parts supplier for the shop i work in doesn't even carry JE pistons! should give you an idea.. lol

iirc awhile back wiesco had issues with piston skirts cracking because the way they designed the oiling holes...

Never heard anything but good things about CP's, so I got a set of 40 overs sitting at my desk waiting for my block to be machined...

Mahle or CP...money being no object. FWIW I just had Mahle slugs put into my block.

They are the lightest, coated, and fabulously machined.
