Oldschool HKS mech.gauges, uncommon thread/size/pitch?

Does anyone have any idea what I could do about these gauges? they're old HKS gauges and they are NOT the universal 1/8 NPT. The water temp thing is way bigger and doesn't fit my 1/8NPT water hose adapter, and the oil pressure unit is an unknown thread that appears extremely close to 1/8 NPT but it isn't. Seriously. I was considering getting the water hose adapter tapped but a guy at a local race shop said it might be hard to find someone who has one for this size/pitch(and couldn't even give me an answer on the oil pressure unit size). I figure a good radiator shop might know the size and could help me further, but I'm still a bit lost on the oil pressure unit. Any ideas or knowhow? I can't be the only one with these old gauges/sizes

id be reluctent to tap that mech. oil.. i mean that oil line does run into your car... ha. i dont think you would want hot oil all over your floor if it were to leak.. ALTHOUGH you could get it tapped..and put like a silicone sealent over the threads.the oil shouldnt get through then. but good luck getting hose part out..keep searchin if anyone else has had this problem.. ill keep my eye out.but i hope that helps

Oh, I was only planning to get the water hose adapter tapped for the water temp unit. it's this thing

ahhh.. i see.. honestly if it works...who cares right?..i dont see why it wouldnt..just my opinion. again the only thing i would be worrysome about is if it were to leak..just make sure it doesnt and your good as gold

They could be BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered). Kind of odd, but very possible. 1/8 BSPT is 1 thread per inch different than NPT so they look almost the same. The stock sr (ka?) oil pressure switch is 1/8 BSPT, BTW.

where did you get those? i've been looking for a set of those gauges for a while...

Nissan doesnt use NPT thread pitch anyways for the stock oil pressure sensor. they use BNPT (british) so you may want to look into that.

dont use any teflon tape on pressure sensors. big no no.
