I got one from the junk yard for a descent price. The rear differential came with the 5 bolt output shaft. What I did not know was that my S14 has 6 bolt drive shafts.
The question is, if I get the 5 bolt drive shafts from the J30, will they bolt right in with no modifications; are there any drawbacks to replacing my 6 bolt driveshafts with the 5 bolt driveshafts, that is if the ones from the J30 will fit?
What's the difference between a rear differential that has 5 bolt output shaft and one that has a 6 bolt output shaft?

They bolt right in. 5 seconds of research would have told you that.

I must have used the wrong search criteria, sorry. By "they will bolt right in" you're talking about the 5 bolt J30 driveshafts right? Any drawbacks to doing this driveshaft swap?

What part of bolt right in do you not understand? Yes axles and diff from the j30 will swap right over to the s chassis. And no drawbacks. Basically the same axle with a different bolt pattern.
If you looked at a j30 you will notice that the rear suspension is the same as a s14. So a lot parts can be swapped over to the s14.

Relax, no need for the sarcasm. It was just a question. Thank you for answering it. If everyone knew everything, there would be no need for schools.

True, but sadly you've proven even with schools the efforts to teach has failed. We all may not everything, but I'm willing to bet a lot of people know a fuck of a lot more from actually trying to learn instead of waiting for a hand out.

The J30 axles are actually thicker so thats a plus. Make sure you use the right bolts unless you like your axles falling out on the highway...

I thought you would have left it alone by now as your curt responses are rather childish. I hope you feel better now that you have proven your point, whatever point that was. Have a nice day and happy Easter.

Thanks for the info. I'll get them next weekend. I'm going to use the bolts that come with the J30 axles so I should be okay.
