advice?

i got my tires rotated a few months ago, just today i noticed that they used a damn impact gun on my lugnuts, which are alluminum. Whats the best way to get these off without breaking the studs? another impact gun? i been driving around like this for well over a month, i dont want my wheels to fly off =(!

No, don't use an impact gun. Use a breaker bar and a socket. Don't be surprised if you need to replace something.

6 point socket, ratchet, and a good breaker bar. Loosen all lug nuts and retighten properly by hand with a torque wrench.

depending on what setting they use with the impact gun, and how much they torqued them to.. you might be ok. but i doubt it. I use a impact gun on my aluminum nuts w/nismo studs all the time, but i stop the instant that nut touches the wheel, and its on the slowest setting. Then i hand torque. I doubt the idiots did that though. Tire techs get paid dick shit. They dont fuckin care.

big o tires will buy you new lug nuts if they are damaged. BUT ONLY IF THEY DID IT!. they have a no hassle policy. So, just throw a fit, and they will buy ya new ones.

if you dont have a breaker bar

use a socket wrench with a hollow metal pipe. helps with leverage also acts like a breaker bar.

also what do you think is the best teqniue to avoid breaking the studs? short fast bursts, or slow and steady? i just hope i dont break the damn key.

dont be afraid ta break it. if it breaks you can buy new ones the studs are only 1-2 bucks a piece at autozone

if anything, just do it slow and steady.

i've had to stand on top of my breaker bar on some occasions, but that was when some idiot overtightened my lugs and they weren't even put on right (they stripped), lol. if you do that though, expect to change a stud.

Take it back and make them loosen with the impact gun. Then you hand torque, curse the tech, then leave. If they break anything taking the lugs off make them fix it.
