This is not a poll, because you forgot to include the pole. (The thing that everyone clicks, and shows results). Perhaps a mod will help you... probably not.

My vote is Yaki's in SoCal (5 locations). Excellent teriyaki burgers/fries.

Wow you guys are terrible.

Ruby Tuesday's and/or Outback by far have the best burgers.

Go to Outback, get a burger with american cheese and bacon, cooked medium.

It literally melts in your mouth, you barely have to chew it.

And they are fucking enormous and just great.

I'll have to vote "other"... I tend to enjoy my own burger more than I enjoy any grease-trap burger. The rest of my family cooks a mean burger too. If going out for a burger, since my fiancee works at Ruby Tuesday, a discounted Triple Prime burger/cooked medium/extra garlic mayo is killer about every time! As far as fast-food, I'd have to pick Hardee's. Or since I live in Chattanooga, I have to admit I love Krystal(White Castle of the south).

The best Italian beef is from Johnny's on the North side of Chicago. Portillo's is good for the Chicago dogs in Chicago not out here. When I am in Chicago we make it a point to take a cruise out to Johnny's on North ave for the the Italian beef.

Burger wise Fatburger used to be one of my favorites but they got all stupid priced. I am a big fan of In and Out.

Best burger ever was Jay's burger (or Yaays buergerr to the owner). Just a tiny burger stand but they put a fried egg and a little bit of chili on that bitch, best ever. It was on Santa Monica in Silverlake, open 23 hours a day. Nothing like gobbling down a juicy ass chili burger with egg at 3 in the morning on the way home from the club.

The 7/11 across the street owned the property and tripled the rent because they wanted to build a parking garage where jay's was. Stupid 7/11.

Only Cali and Vegas have them. They could easily expand, their fries are probably better than their burgers, you see them cut the potatos right there. They have never wanted to expand to keep their quality in control.

Actually it was not 7/11 and was not a parking garage. It was a office building and what happened was Jay got tired of the fight and closed. His daughters came along and reopened. The fight actually was not even over at that point. They had managed to lobby local fans and win concessions from the lot owner. The lot owner agreed to building the office building around Jays and leaving Jays.

It seemed like all was good, until the construction started and the construction people insisted they needed to tear down Jays seperate small building freezer. It did get torn down. The sisters got disgusted and gave up. They Closed and walked away. I think they took a large financial hit because of it. The office building went up, the stand is still there, its now called Seans burgers lol. I have no idea if they are any good.

Funny I forgot to mention and no one else has mentioned Tommy's Burgers and the Original Tommy's on Rampart and Beverly. The home of the Chili Cheese burger. Nothing like it, its good but you don't want to eat it all the time its a Heart attack waiting to happen. LOL

hmmm if it was the best burger period, that would have been interesting. best chain burger, I would prob have to go with the Chilli's peppercorn burger if they still have it. not too bad for $7 or so. fries are decent too.

usually my fav type is w/ swiss cheese (preff gruyere), shrooms, and caramelized onions. medium rare. no mayo, bbq, or thousand island sauce. thin fries, if done well also score extra pts. just like a good steak, if the meat is of good quality and cooked well, you really shouldn't smother it with too much sauce imho.

if its a matter of gourmet burger then
-julienne's, but has steak fries which i dont care for (in pasedena, socal)
-Mo's (in san francisco, not the one in burbank althought thats not bad either)
-4-seasons hotel coffee shop (in san francisco, around the touristy downtown area close to the tenderloin)
-Pete's cafe, scores extra for killer garlic fries (downtown LA, socal).

after reading this thread, im tempted to find Father's Office in Santa Monica, CA and the Houston's chain (had some suprisgly good pork chops at their Century City, CA location there recently). Also tempted to try out the $80 burger at the beverly hills hotel. I've always been interested and live 10 mins away, but never bothered b/c of the price.

I never see anyone going to the new one there. And from what I heard from someone that used to work there, whoever owned the lot across the street tripled the rent. Anybody had a Culvers butterburger before? Had one for the first time last week. It was better than most of the options I have here...

On top of that they have Dairy Queen type treats and a lot of other options on the menu!

out of those choices.. I voted for Carls Jr... however, my home-made burgers destroy any of those fast food choices.. probably are about 600% better for you too.. since I use Bison. mmm

My bro works at In-n-Out and brings burgers home all the time... I never eat them because they are SICK AS FUCK! I hate that place. It tastes like they cook their food in dish soap or something

Best burgers on the list would be Carls Jr hands down....

Oh and just to let you guys know... Burger King is THE worst place for you to eat... Its rated worst in some badass book that rates all different types of food. I forget what its call but can be found at pretty much any bookstore.
Chick Fil A got #1 on the list as being the most healthy... even better than subway which was ranked #2

McDonalds double filet-o-fish w/ extra sauce is fkn mean!!! But at home, I like to fry up some spam, couple eggs, take two slices of wheat bread, slap on some mayonnaise on each side, put two slices of cheese. Heat it up in the microwave to get the cheese melted, then put the spam and eggs between. Better then any sandwich you can order off a menu IMO. But thats just me, others will of course have their own opinion.

to the guys who suggested Father's Office (culver city/santa monica in socal), thanks very much. I don't think i've ever had a burger patty (needs to be medium rare imo) as tender. very good 'pomme frite' style fries. excellent choice overall. :D

going to try 'the bucket' in eagle rock next. actually there are some pretty good places to eat in that area.

Out of your list i would choose Wendy's, but I voted for 'Other' and I'm going with Five Guys. I think its an east coast thing.

There's a Five Guys I found in the Carson mall today (I work all over LA and OC), and that shit was bomb! They said there was another one going up in Cerritos.

I got a 'regular' (read: double) with bacon, ketchup, lettuce, relish, mustard, and who knows what else - regular fries (although their Cajun fries looked good) - and a drink...

$10.

Fuck it was expensive, but damn good.

As far as chains go Fuddruckers and Longhorn have great burgers. Five guys is really good, but definitely more of a "slightly better than fast food" type burger.

I'd like to try in-n-out but I've heard from a few CA citizens that the hype is unwarranted. :-/

Joe's Cable Car Restaurant between Silver and Mission in San Francisco.

The owner uses top quailty cuts of beef not the typical "ground beef/hamburger meat" and fresh grids it himself and most of the time is cooking them too. The burgers are insane!!!

All you Bay Area knuckleheads go there and see for yourself. Its so worth the trip. I found out later "Joe's" was on the Food Network.

My favorite chain burger is a tie between Nations and In & Out. Nations has good pie too...actually also Marie Calendars has great pies.....ah shiiiat now I'm getting a craving for all this.
