That is not diy....I made a diy one for $15 and its EXACTLY the same thing. Calum is the one that originally made that board, that company took the board, added components and jacked the price, though its all legal since Calum doesnt care.
But yea, if you want to get it, it works well. Consult is such a nice thing to have. Consult is not like DsmLink, DsmLink has the ability to alter fuel and ignition maps when consult cant.

I know the consult at the nissan dealerships can pull and advance timing which led me to believe they were similar, but good to know.

Yea, consult can change timing but once you shut off the car, it resets.

Whoa so it actually works?!!
Can you tune your car with it? I'm talking mainly about adjusting the air/fuel ratio, and etc.
I think I might buy it and instead of repairing my wiring I'll just use a laptop instead of my cluster haha.

No judging from the responses you CANNOT tune your car with this.

Oh just noticed the post above. Wish DSMLink didn't cost 500$ more.
I have the cable on my car.
It's pretty cool for diagnostics, tells you a load of information, you can adjust timing by a little bit, check your duty cycle, o2 sensor voltage, other minor things. More of a troubleshooting tool more than a tuning one.

Exactly. The other nice thing is you can go through other systems too with the CONSULT (don't know if this can, it should) like cruise control, automatic transmission, digital climate control, and airbag. Anyone know if this piece does that stuff too?

With the cheaper/free programs you cant, ie. Nissan datascan, Calumsult, etc. You might be able to if you had access to an oem nissan consult device though. What it does do and does wonderfully is tell you exactly how your engine and its sensors are working. You can use maptrace to pinpoint exactly where you are on your fuel/ignition maps at that moment, making tuning a breeze.

Just to let everyone know, in order to use consult on a 89-90 sohc 240sx, you will need a stanza ecu with some wiring involved.
