gold/bronze shavings and 3 small hunks like teeth of of somthing. could this be the thrust bearing for the crank or would it be off a sprocket?

flywheel maybe. whatever it is it definately is not good at all.

Good luck man!

Could be cam sprockets. Flywheel isn't in the oil so it couldn't be that.

But either way its not good.

Does the oil pump run off a gear? Sorry, I haven't had the misfortune of tearing down my motor yet! But that/ distributor gear may be the source.
Is the engine currently running?

Could be pieces of the rocker arms...I've found this in one of my motors. Not uncommon for SR motors.

From what I've seen, coppery/gold particles in your oil = toasted bearings. You know what goes after that.

Post some pictures so some of the OGs could help you identify your problem.

il post pics when i get them, il check to see if pieces of rocker arm are broke. first thing i thought was no way its a spun bearing rocker arm poped off but it wasnt. im donw to tearing the crank out now s il have pics soon.

Well main and rod bearings are mostly made of copper with a steel backed bearing shell, so what you are seeing is most likely the rod or main bearing material that has worn away, possibly brought upon by and oiling problem (oil pump). The camshafts dont use bearings like the rod and main, ususally any wear from there would be aluminum from camshaft caps.

I just had a similar issues with my KA but it turned out that the timing chain slide guide broke and partially blocked the oil pick up, very that teh little hunks of teeth you describe are not plastic, if there are you may have a similar problem that I had.

Nevermind you have an SR, not sure if SR had this problem (timing chain slide guide).

i took the bottom end out and a couple bearings have small ditches in them i guess from metal chunks runningn through them. heres pics of the one bearing, its flattend and has custom sideskirts now, and theres also 2 pieces of the bearing corners broke off. also on the rod it came from it kinda broke a small piece off. as far as i can tell i just need to replace the rod and all the bearings and the oil pump to be safe. im gona intsall my nismo crankbolts and arp headstuds from my last motor whil im at it. also thanks for the suggestions im still baffled to what the small chunks are on the oil pan piece in the pic.

The bearing you are reffering to as having side skirts is yoru thrust bearings or atleast it should be lol....sounds like from your description you should also be replacing are re-grinding the crankshaft main and rod journals.

yea i gota do the crank too. i mean the bearing that has the skirts is from rod 2, it killed it, i have another one from my frist motor i had too. i rebuilt one last year. this is rebuild number 2.
