2000 toyota corolla VE 5 speed. 160k miles on the chassis, 73k on the motor.
Dark green. Great little car. Go on autotrader.com and search for a 2000 up corolla and tell me you find a single one under $5000. Search craigslist for 2000 corolla and look at the prices. I originally had this up for 3800 obo but lets cut to the chase, Ill take $3500 flat firm

The good:
Engine had freak lower end issues 500 miles ago so I swapped in an engine from a 2003 corolla that only had 73k miles! CLEAN CLEAN engine that has over 200+ compression across the board and runs amazing! I have the paperwork

I did a basic light port polish on intake and exhaust ports while it was out, and a port polish on the stock tubular exhaust manifold. (design better than most headers for this car when polished.)

New exedy clutch with f1 racing heavy pressure plate. This adds very slight amounts of pressure to the clutch for more feedback - feels like a normal clutch instead of the wimpy fatigued feeling stock one. Not a racing clutch.

freshly seafoamed and flushed track... Then a fresh fill of mobile 1 5-30
Fresh coolant, new gatorback serpintine belt, new OEM oversized toyota oil filter and new iridium spark plugs.

NICE Dark tint on all glass but the windshield! Looks awesome and keeps the car nice and cool in the summer heat when the suns actually hot (unlike now)

Stock shifter had rubber bushings that were bypassed on the shifter mount, and I also installed speed options shifter bushings on the transmission. This feels like any good aftermarket shifter and is very well defined. Much more driver confidence and feedback in the transmission system.

stock tail lights were replaced with aftermarket (but they look factory). They were black altezzas which I have painted over with translucent candy apple except the spot for the reverse lights. They are a lot more pleasing than stock but very subtle - almost like the 03 up style.

Aftermarket Front upper strut tower bar

Better Aftermarket Intake system was installed to replace the factory intake system
New upgraded brakes! Vehicle received brand new Hawp HPS brake pads and premium rotors very recently. The new brakes will stop on a dime and you will feel very safe/confident. This VASTLY outperforms the factory brake pads.

Aftermarket 5 spoke 15" alloy wheels with bf goodrich kdw2 205-55-15 tires installed. The wheels are a little too low offset for the car so the tires rub a bit on hard bumps but its mainly something audible only and it doesn't gouge or put huge nasty holes in the tires. I rolled the fenders a bit but maybe you can do a pull in the rear if you want to keep it like that. The tires are definitely showing age in the wear patterns and are not suitable for heavy rain or any snow driving.

A fresh alignment done and rebalancing of the rear tires.

The bad:

I think the car has a bad throwout bearing. Was perfectly fine before the swap but after swapping and installing the new T.O. bearing it makes a lot of racket until I push the clutch in. Its an exedy but probably DOA. Car still drives and if it doesn't annoy you then you might never need to change it - but since its loud I would say its a good idea to keep an eye on it (mind you I have known people who drove with a bad TO bearing for years without changing it).

Transmission has an issue with 1 of the 2 3rd gear synchros. If your shifting up from 2-3 its perfectly fine, If your downshifting from 4-3, or going neutral to 3, you have to blip the throttle a little over target and let it down to go in. After you grind it twice you'll never grind it again but its something you have to think of when driving.

passenger side lock is frozen- have to unlock the car from the drivers side.

Paint isn't that bad. Has a ding in the passenger side fender that you don't notice that much, couple little rock chips, the usual

NO RUST

Interior isn't that bad. aftermarket cd player and it works. Car is clean but could use a cleaning. If it doesn't sell I will give it a detail job and up my expectations.

overall the car will make a great DD for someone who wants a little lovin invested and needs good reliable transportation that gets great gas mileage.

This one could be put in the high end with the low mile engine, but it can get knocked down because of the couple of issues it has. I'm putting it up as a feeler to see if anyone wants it and if I can get any reasonable offers.

Priced like its gotta go but not priced like its stolen. no tire kickers serious buyers only!

Reason I'm selling? I have 3 cars and 2 parking spaces in my heart - sorry but the corolla drew the short straw here. S14 and s13 here on in screw gas mileage lol.

Here's some pics. I'm thinking $3799 OBO on this puppy
