A s13 hatch is still called a 240sx here in America, not a 180sx. If youre jDm tYte then ofcourse its a 180sx.

LS1 v8 swap is getting more popular these days. I wish i could afford to do it.

Sounds like he knew more about 240's than you do. :keke:

Seriously dude, you sound just as stupid telling him his nephew probably had a 180sx. You know they never had them in America, right? You do also know that LS1s, LS6s, or any Chevy LSx motor is a small block chevy, right? That swap is popular as hell right now.

oh you minnesota people :)

1)It's cheap
2)who doesn't have the access to a small block chevy??
3)It's still cheap
4)I'm sure getting work done to the engine is easier and cheaper.
5)Part availibility.
6)"Hey dad I am having a problem with my motor can you give me some help"

I know I wouldn't mind saying, "hey dad(or friend or whoever) I am having a problem with my boost settings" and not getting the what do you want me to do about it look. haha

When I said cheap, I obviously wasn't talking about an Ls1,ls7, lsx swap. :)

Too bad those aren't cheap, cuz I know what I would have if they were.

Sounds like he knows more about Chevys than I do. Sorry, if I didn't realize he was probably talking about an LS1 swap at the time. I was thinking about LT-1s, etc. I know plenty about 240's, just not when it comes to creating Frankenstein swaps with Chevy engines, no mater what the badge is. Thanks for the input though.

You didn't represent your unlimited knowledge in S chassis, while stating that he must have a 180SX then. It sounded more like he was describing a S13 Coupe and not a hatchback if it was more square on the back end.

Yep, it's the latest bandwagon that everyone wants to jump on. The LS1 bandwagon. If I could afford to do it, would I do it? I might, but it'd be even sweeter if I could beat a LS1 swap 240 with my little SR.

Oh yeah SunnyS14, that's a sweet @ss S14 you got. So clean.

Haha I was mainly referring to the 180SX comment.

small block chevy is probably the most commonly swapped engine in america, be it into whatever chassis.

why would you?

cheap and easy power, reliability, and weight savings to name 3.

Ok, ok, I was just trying to post a quick chat thread, but I guess I must expand on it based on what everyone here is posting. First, in the original post, notice I said I decided not to push the issue, meaning I realized he must be talking about an S13 coupe or hatchback, and by me mentioning a 180sx, it would only add to an already long conversation with this guy that I did not want to have at the time. I did not want to go into the logistics of JDM-ness vs. USDM 240sx trim options, etc, etc. Next, I do understand that LS1 swaps are common and did not intend to talk ill about those who do them. I am just so used to hearing LS1 that when he said small block, my mind went straight to the old school 4-barrel beasts and was simply wondering if swapping something like this were even feasable? Again, I apologize for the "ignorance", this is why I don't post often because everyone has an opinion and will jump at the chance to talk bad about others' comments.

I will say, you kinda open the can of worms here and brought this on yourself, by making a post that sounded like you knew nothing. Now if you can't stand the criticism, than either post with knowledge or don't post, especially not posts that make you look dumb. Problem solved!

Here's a quick pointer to making an educated, well expressed post on this forum:

1) Is anyone else going to give a flying fuck about what you have to say?

If the answer is 'no', then don't even waste the bandwidth. No one cares about what you do at a car wash. NO ONE.
It's threads like this that make me seriously doubt the human race is ever going to make it.
