Hey all, thought id post this question here.

Im in SoCal and selling an S14 with a SR20DET to a guy in PA. He is himself checking to see if is possible to register it legally, so i thought i post up real quick and ask any of you on this regional forum.

Thanks - Chris

It's not legal but not illegal. I just put less than 5000 miles a year on mine and it's exempt from emissions. Hell I even bring it to my local Nissan dealership and they don't even know. Cops here don't give a shit what kind of engine you have in your car (not like Cali).

Another thing. If he's that worried about emissions testing a SR, a 3" Catco with stock injectors/tune will pass emissions fine.

Now if it's a RHD S14 with a Jap VIN that might be a problem. As long as you have the US VIN I'm sure it'll be fine.

the motor is illegal. it's not d.o.t. approved. cops/mechanics just don't look into that shit up here. but i got my shit registered up here in norristown easily no questions asked. and i got a guy up here who does my "inspection" just tell the dude to slip the guy a 20
