ive got a 98 kouki w/ stock headlamps, ive adjusted the vertical screw and it works fine, but the horizontal adjustment screw doesent do anything.... in fact they both point to the right.

has anyone ever run into this problem? ive taken both headlights totally out of the frame and reinstalled them. if anyone has an answer let me know. thx

The headlight adjuster screws might be stripped on the inside

i suggest takin the headlights off the car and look at the actual headlight inside while turning the adjustments to see if they actually move. ifu have zenki lenses i dont think u need to bake the headlights, u may just have to remove the clips.

Chances are you guys overadjsuted it and backed out the screw

+1 The adjustment on them are the same on the zenki ones. There are plastic nut/floaters in there that the screw attaches to. They are prone to stripping or just unseating off the screw if you push them out too far. Only way to fix it is opening the headlight housing.

Take the metal tabs/clips off, take all the bulbs/everything you could off the headlights, stick them in an oven at 200-250 for about 5 mins, check if the glue/seal is soft (if not stick it in the oven again), split the headlight open. Once you get the lense, turn the adjustment screws max and pull the housing out and inspect the plastic nut on the sides. If they dont look too badly chewed up, they probably just unseated themselves. Just push on to the housing till the screw threads back into them.

thanks super ray... on the baking issues, i suggest popping them in at 225 for 8 minutes dont open the oven (these are for koukis) zenki's better follow ray's advise as they're plastic so i dont know the ill effects.

Put an aluminum foil on underneat if your iffy about having potential lines grill marks under the head lights. Just make sure you dont stick them in there lense face down (atleast on zenki headlights, will be okay for glass kouki lenses). As far as prying them open, I always just use a butter knife to pry them and slice thru the hot glue. Oh yah, try to recycle as much of the glue, basically, you do the same shit to stick them back together. Oven, get them hot and push them together till they seal. You shouldnt need any thing to seal it again but the original stuff in there already.

PS: while your in there, clean inside the lense and do whatever else you need to do. Every headlights ive had to split open, I painted the chrome shit black cuz i think they look tacky as fuck.
