What dori_sil8t said. Practically just have to worry about those two straps and the filler neck. Don't forget about taking the hoses off and unplugging it too. The bitch thing about it is the plastic piece(near the subframe) on the gas tank, makes it hard to take the straps completely off. There are three little bolts holding the plastic piece and one bolt(near the end) for the filler neck.

nope. you don't have to remove the rear subframe. the gas tank is being mainly held up by, if im not mistaken, two straps.

as far as how hard it is, it's a bitch if you're doing it by yourself. it's easy if you have the gas tank jack or something similar. jack(s) with block of woods also works.

if you don't have a jack, but have some one to help you, lay on your back and use your knees to keep it up so gas tank doesn't just fall on you when it's loosen. loosen the bolts thats attaching the strap to the car. your helper can then guide the gas tank nozzle out of the gas door while you bring it down.

then do the complete opposite when installing. lay on your back, hug the the tank, bench press it up, use your knees to put it and and keep it up. while you're putting the gas tank up, have your helper guide the nozzle into place. then tighten the straps.

the fsm has a detailed illustration of how to remove the gas tank. you have to note the gas lines, you don't want it to switch. i don't exactly remember the specific step but you have to do something before you should pull of the gas lines. it's in the fsm. i think unpressurized it or something.

to make things easier, have as little gas as possible. go drive around, if you car is drivable, until you're on empty. haha.

just make sure you have an extra person to help take the gas off. why cause if you have half to a full tank its heavy or just make sure its pretty empty when you take it out.
