hey everyone,
i was just wondering if anyone had done the ca18det swap? I was wondering if it was at all like the sr swap and did you need any custom fabbing besides a downpipe? how do you like your engine and what have you done to it? thanks a lot in advance.

why would i get flamed for this? i thought it was a decent question. i have searched on and looked at the FAQ but i wanted to see what people liked/disliked about it. i see a lot about CA Vs. SR wherever i go, but i'd like to know what the experience is/was like for anyone who has/had one.

The CA isn't a much more complex swap than the SR. You are looking at a motor from the same chassis car. Main trouble you will run into is parts will be harder to come by as the motor isn't as common.

the ca18de is common in the US, however.
Most basic parts are interchangable.
(i havent done the swap, but im researching it)

What car came with the CA18DE here in the states? I know the s12 200sx came with a ca18e and the pulsar came with a ca16de, but where can I find the DOHC 1.8 liter version?
