Made this same thread a while back, was locked, because of idiots. If you like this sort of music, then post away. If you don't, stay the fuck out, your opinion is not wanted here. I want to keep this thread alive as long as possible, with people updating, when they come across good songs. Although the title states vocal trance, it's not limited to that. Basically, any type of song, that lifts you up, or puts you in the "zone".

I do listen to di.fm, whenever I play cs, or when i'm at work, pulling 16's. Only thing is, tracks are hard to find. It's not like radio songs, that you can just go to the store and buy. If anyone knows where I can get Marthas Harbour, hit me up. The only version I can find, is the celtic one. I used to love the trance version, of that song. Some of the artists, I used to like, and still do, are ATB, Tiesto, Van Dyk, Kimball Collins, Dimitri. 4 strings is good, and I love most above and beyond mixes.

Ifm you want a good stream radio and want to be able to pick the artists and songs you listen to go to
www.pandora.com
you can build yourself a mini playlist, and search for artists or songs and add to your list..so you controll the radio..they have a big selection too!

Quite frankly, "vocal trance" is gay. Its quite faggotry. Let me give you examples:

I remember listening to special d back in the day... oakenfold is good for long back country driving...
DJ Keoki - Speed Racer, lol.
that's all I can think of right now
ian van dahl
east clubbers

And I love how people think that its a seperate genre of music. "Vocal trance" is trance that just happens to have "LA LA LA" singing in it. Personally, I feel that singing takes away what trance is suppose to be. After all, its electronic dance music...not cheerleading music. If you need gay vocals to enjoy trance, then you're listening to it wrong. It's not pop music, people. The only person on this thread that seems to know what they are talking about is Bobafreak.

Omarius Maximus

There is no right and wrong way to listen to music. Thankfully music is subjective, so there are no "rules" on how I should listen to the things I want to listen to.

I think what hes saying are what everyone on the board is throwing out are nothing but overrated artist who aren't really vocal trance(but you'll here them on your local radio station on a saturday night) >_<. You throw a couple of lyrics does not make it vocal trance. atc "all around the world"......not vocal trance. lol just djs/producers who play hmm i dont whatever music lol. Im not gonna go all rave5000 i been in the electronica field for the past 10 yrs so i have a fair share of knowledge about it. Another dj/producer you can check out is Dj Doboy www.djdoboy.com (http://www.djdoboy.com) hes got tons of mixes he plays on di fm and he has track list as well.

But if you want to find good stuff and the record, mp3, on the latest tracks and mixes, listen to Armin van buurens "state of trance" theres over what 300 mixes now theres sites who list it as well some of the mixes and just get the tracklist and your on your way. There is also Matt Dareys nocturnal, and blank and jones in the mix, Paul van dyk vonyc sessions, again there are tons of them out there those are just the few i listen to because they release the new stuff on a weekly (usually fridays). If you need any other stuff i have about 80 gigs of music and also singles ranging from trance, hard dance, hhc, gabber, and etc.

trance techno vocal trance what ever you kids are calling it now and days this just gives me headaches and makes me want to blow my brains out

your 22 and you say that??? where the hell did you grow up?? alabama?

Vocal trance is just pop'yish,,commercialized trance,,
basically easy for new commers to enjoy...
then after a while they usually get into harder stuff...
I love hard trance..but its hard to find good hard trance..in the US
there is also, acid trance, which is a dry form of hard trance, a little darker and less vocals and trumpetty sounds, but i doubt most people even know what it is...
..In Japan the biggest style is Cyber trance, it has vocals, BPS's are faster then regular trance, but not fast enough to be Happy hardcore..its sorta in between...
their cd's are decent..
Called
Cyber Trance JApan, there is an entire collection of them..

Helghast
03-20-2008, 01:13 AM
"Vocal trance" is basic EDM Pop.
..and trance is boring in general.
Hard Trance (Like Gabe said) is the better trance.
Acid Trance is alright.
There's Psytrance too, that shit's badd if you're in the right state of mind.
Epic Trance is the one most people hear.
When Trance hit America in '99, it was all Epic Trance.
DJ Jean, Ian Van Dahl are just a few.

http://www.newmixes.com/download/armin_van_buuren-a_state_of_trance_343-cable-03-14-2008-newmixes.mp3

That's the newest State of Trance (343) by AvB.
He plays the best trance, IMHO.

He atleast deserves to be the "#1" DJ on that bullshit list.

Shaminii
03-20-2008, 01:30 AM
Idk about saying AvB plays the best stuff. I think he has been playing a lot of shit ever since he caught the "#1 DJ" bug.

His new song w/ DJ Shah sounds like extreme ATB crap.

Like I said when I first started this thread, keep your comments to yourself. I mean how old are you, when you have to come into a thread, and write trance.....faggot? I mean grow the fuck up. Who cares what kind of music people listen to? I don't care if it's mainstream, or not. This is just a thread about titles of songs. If you can't handle that, make your own thread about how "gay" vocal trance is. Everyone likes different music, just like anything else in life. Stay on topic guys, so that this thread doesn't get locked up, like the previous one that I made. I'm tired of having to always defend things I like, especially when it comes to something so diverse as music. For you guys that don't like this music, stay the fuck out, it's a really simple concept. But you are so full of musical knowledge, that you feel obligated to come in here, and give your .02 cents. Keep your change.

Shaminii

Sorry, I have no tolerance for commercial, cheesy trance. I've already made a facebook group about it haha. Here is a list of what I've been diggin lately (that has vocals):

Morgan Page feat. Lissie - The Longest Road (Deadmau5 Remix)
Gianluca Motta feat. Molly - Not Alone (Deadmau5 Remix)
Fragma - Toca's Miracle (Inpetto Remix)
Ronald Van Gelderen - Dirty Rocker
Jorn Van Deynhoven - Godspeed (Joshua Cunningham Vocal Mix)
Mark Pledger vs Matt Hardwick feat. Melinda Gareh - Fallen Tides (Matt Zo Vocal Remix)
Moonbeam - I Love Mornings
Andain - Summer Calling (Gabriel & Dresden Mix)
X feat. Jennifer Rene - Invincible (Sied Van Riel Remix)
Andrew Bennett feat Kirsty Hawkshaw - Heaven Sent (Pillow One Remix)
Melleefresh & Deadmau5 - Hey Baby (Original Vocal Mix)
The Thrillseekers feat. Aruna - Waiting Here For You (Night Music Edit)
Steve Callaghan - Shelter
Headstrong feat. Tiff Lacey - Symphony Of Soul
Jose Amnesia feat. Jennifer Rene - Louder

You can find those songs on beatport.com, audiojelly.com, etc.

this is all you ned ..
just go Limewire, or anyother download software, and type in Tunnel Trance Force..I am serious you will love it..they are continuous mixes...of hard trance, no pauses..
when i drive listenning to it,,, i cant just do the speed limit..lol..I drive at night and when the white lane devidor stripes woosh by, and the speed picks up int he music to..i cant help but floor it, seem like it was made for driving.....

..I do agree with him about AVB and Tiesto...brainwash stuff though....
before i cam to the US i was in Brazil ad Japan, and had never heard of them...they are just overhyped here..

Bobafreak
03-20-2008, 12:37 PM
wooooo disagree! avb stuff is fine by me i know his latest single i didnt like but what i mean as far as seeing whats new by different record labels is why i like listening to asot. But i have to admit shaminii i do love your selection. Tocas miracle....not really feeling the trance version of it i prefer the breakbeat mix. dirty rocker=yes lovin it!, godspeed..another great one and i want to hear live at a event. I have to say your selection is great.

Reason why tiesto and other mainstream artist are so hyped out here is because they come out here every year and their names are given under these huge neon font flyers with "coming far from across the globe" as if coming from a far away place makes you god. lol. People think hes a musical genious. Yeah hes one of the pioneers but i wont say musical genious. Hes the 50cent of trance lol along with the other ive gone pop djs. example One of my favorite mixes i like from oakenfold is his creamfield mixes they arent that bad and its something i can just lounge and drive on a long trip with especially disc one. but why the hell are all of his other mixes shitty and electro pop another example ferry corsten. I dont know it seems when there popularity grows there music goes to shit imo.

I say my favorite track is girl nobody-cages. Gabe listen to that beginning part of the song and you know how you mention about how some parts just make you wanna accelerate on the gas pedal i say this has to be one of them. Its right after pinkbox special. i laugh at this because i play this song back from raves and around 3 the freeway is empty and ill play disc 2 but yeah i kinda get my self ready for it and its right at 0.28 of the song you just gas it and go lol. I think its the vocals i like about it. after that its just chill music. but if you want another accelerator "lizard" by mauro picotto i love that one as well.

Hard Trance and Hard House FTW!!!!! I love it. For vocal trance, Dj GT has many 1hour mixes, and they are free. Just google his name. Above and Beyond, Armin, Tiesto, Gabriel & Dresden, Ferry Corsten, BT, all those are cool.
As for harder stuff:
Dj Zenith is the man!

This is the his best track ever:

Dj Luna and anyone who plays @ Qlimax are the best at it. Here's some vids. I want to go to this movafucker sooo badly:

There is a difference. Different styles. Just because you're not into it, you don't know the difference.

meh that shit never makes sense to me.....techno,trance, house, hard house, hardstyle.....wtf is the difference???? seriously...

A lot of djs, and some people say its in the BPM's..beats per minute..but when you try to define it by that..its never accurate.. cuz now there are so many styles..
it actually doesnt matter, thre will always be only
TRANCE(uplifting/epic/vocal/hard/Speed/Psy/hardcore/Acid/tech)
HOUSE(Hard/tribal/Tech/Minimal/Acid/etc....)
TECHNO(Hard/Acid/Electro/etc...)
BREAKS..(Drum N Bass/Jungle/Trip Hop...etc...)
what you ..or some dj may consider Hard trance I may consider Hardhouse..and what someone else may think is jungle, may be considered Drum N Bass in another area.. comprende..

SO basically to keep very simple..

Techno..dry beats..hard bass..no vocals..

House(dry beats/funkier bass..not as fast as techno)

Trance, fast repetitive beats..Melodies..(sound pretty)

Breaks..the name says it all..the beats are staggered and broken up..(funky)(god for breakdance) lol

"Hey Baby" is a electro house tune.

If you go to a party where trance is playing and then compare that to a party with house or dnb, you'll notice that they way you dance and connect w/ the dj is different. Trance is more jump and down music and its not so much dance because of the amount of dramatic breaks in them whereas house beats are very constant and keeps the crowd dancing w/out the dramatic breaks and huge climaxes. Trance also has a more intimate connection with the crowd and always features a melody. You'll notice this because the whole crowd is always facing the dj and stuff. The bpm and structure for each genre is different as well. Examples: progressive=127bpm-134, trance=134-140, house=125-130.

some good ones listed. some really old, tacky ass shit posted also. :bigok:
i still, to this day have not been able to find this song anywhere. just on vinyl in europe. and its way out of production. hell, i cant even remember the name of the song or artist. i would almost do anything to have a copy i can put on a CD.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/e114906d-4a30-47b0-8b07-989c0150c68b.htm

EDIT, i suppose ill toss in a suggestion. if anyone is not familiar. this song has the most epic buildup ive ever heard in a song. ive caught myself doing 100+ on the highway listening to this song. its long enough to where the buildup is gradual, but epic. no lyrics, sorry vocal trance guys.
JFK - 'whiplash' i think its the bad habit boys remix. the version i am thinking of is like 8 mins long. if you like shit you can really get into, you'll dig this song. louder = better.

Well i cant fully undertsand what she says...
lots of timestrance songs are named after a short fraze or "main word" that is repeated in the song..
I understand the first part..she says:

"How do you...........someoooone"

lol..anyone understand the rest??
might be one of the words in the song..the one that is missing..
i have found many songs by picking out the main word and searching it..added by trance remix at the end..usually works
ps: that was kinda more like happy hardcore mix.. just not so fast!

LTJ anyone?

Epic Trance > Vocal Trance.

Hell yea I love LTJ Bukem, the progression sessions! Not a big fan of vocal
trance tho, but Sasha and Paul Van Dyk are cool.

i get, 'how do you blah the circle of life'. the song is actually called circle of life, now that i think about it. and ive found it on some brittish websites. but it only came in 7" vinyl, and is out of production. i cant find a digital copy of the song anywhere.. makes me sad. i really like that one too.. :-/

I searched. Found something similar, but not that fast.
I think she says:
"How do you break the circle of love/life". It's either love or life. Them musicians like to bend words outta shape sometimes. Now i'm on it until i find it! ARG! Hahaha. I'll keep you posted lucky7 if i find something.

from that, i would think the name is circle of love/life..then add trance mix to the end and hit search! then when you find it.. try adding. club mix/ trance mix/hard mix//etc and you will get different versions!
