i have seen initial d and there is no way i could remember that i have seen or rented a disc with vol.4 written on the its cd case. i know there were 2 boxes with 3 cases in each numbering from vol.1 to 3 and there were these battle stage, extra stage and the movie version. is this the 4th one weve been waiting for? is this the part were project d battles integ R, ek9 R, miata and R34 skyline? oh plus that bunta race in an impreza? what are your thoughts? box says its still part of stage 2.. hmm have i missed something here? this 1 disc costs 79 bucks and only plays on region 2.

the one you saw had 3 discs because it was a bootleg, lower bitrate MPG2 video, so all of the season 2 could fit on 3 discs. This is scanned from the real thing, japanese, in which it had at least 4 discs.

Stage 4 will not be out on DVD for a LONG time because it hasn't even been on TV yet, and Initial D is shown on TV, that's why it has those "da dant dant dant... Initiallllll Deeee" interludes.

But don't worry everything will be alright, just don't kill yourself trying to drift before stage for comes out.

speaking of InitialD...I finally just bought it off ebay....the whole DVD set for 66 bucks! I'm having it 3day shipped....It's all money!!!!

I've been "borrowing" a friends set for the last month or so...

can't wait to go out and start trying out the techniques they show in the series! (just kidding you guys!

here's the kicker though, it took takumi 6 months of driving a mountain road every single day to get to the point where he was ONLY driving SMOOTHLY. If you figure his mountain road is like one day at an open track around here, it's like 180 track days, just to learn how to drive smoothly.

The series definitely emphasizes that it's Takumi's experience that developes his natural talent, at least in the beginning. If you look at it that way, we can ALL learn from Initial D. Basically, NO DRIFTING untill you've learned how to master your cars basics, or have gone to the track a few hundred times. Otherwise you'll end up like Iketani or Itsuki: spinning out off the road.

Cliff's Notes: Yes, there is a lesson in Initial D. No, that lesson is NOT The Complete Idiot's Guide to Drifting.

actually Ace...you are correct, and I totally agree. I've always told people that that's what is really happening there...I mean, he's been driving that ONE road for 5 years, pushing his abilities (he didn't know it) everytime...

that comment was a joke...just so you know...people see InitialD and wanna go to the hills and drift...but when I see InitialD....I wanna get into clubracing....unfortunately, I'll probably stick with solo2 for a bit..until I can get a 2nd 240 to beat up on the track...as I cannot afford to lose this car.

In fact, I was talking to a friend of mine...and I was mentioning how I wish I could have gotten on the track for the last lapping day, but I don't have a helmet yet...he said, yeah, you can drift your RWD around on the corners...I kinda hesitated and was like...what??? LOL that's what InitialD does to people
