I just swapped a AT ECU into my S13 while i mod my MT ECU but i cant seem to set the timing and idle right. With my MT ECU, i just unplug the TPS set the idle at 700rpm and timing to 15 deg, plug the TPS back in and all is good. but with the AT ECU when i unplug the TPS the idle races up to about 2000 rpm and i cant get it below about 1250 with the timing at 15 deg. Then when i pulg the TPS back in, it idles at about 500-600.

Is the AT ECU bad or is it something to do with not haveing an auto tranny?

I'm pretty sure the a/t ecu has a higher idle because it has to turn a torque converter at idle and so it adjust accordingly. Where is the timing at when it drops the idle back to 500-600rpm.

Just a thought, but get the idle up to about 1500 with about 15 deg of timing then drop it, since its a manual car, you might just need to play with it to get it right.

It's ok to run an auto ecu on a 5spd... It also allows u to start the car without putting the clutch in..:2f2f: ... My friend is running an auto ecu right now and it runs just fine.. Just had to back off the timing a tiny bit..

you also have no fuel cut at 112 :)

i know it runs, ive been driving it for awhile, but it acts kinda funny. consult is reporting some odd stuff. like the fuel pump not being on while the car is running. but if i send the command to tun it off, it does, and the car dies. if i sent the command to turn it back on, it does, but consult still doesnt report it being on. like i said, odd.
