hey guys i am looking to get a Gt28r because i want a really responsive turbo that can make a decent amount of power (looking to make 300hp), while looking around i found that the Gti-r T28 flows 3lb/min more than the gt28r and i was wondering the difference that makes it flow more? is it just the compressor wheel being a bit bigger? If so could the gt28r be modified to fit the T28 compressor wheel? thanks

GT28R and the GTiR T28 share the same compressor wheel. Other than that, theyre different.
GT28R is ball bearing, has a T04b compressor housing, and .64AR turbine housing.
GTiR T28 is journal bearing, comes with a smaller T3 compressor housing, has a bigger turbine wheel than GT28R and a .86AR turbine housing.
In the end, the GT28r spools faster but top end on the GTiR is greater due to the exhaust housing.

thanks, i was aware of the differences of journal and ball bearing. I just didnt know what made the t28 higher flowing. So could the .86AR housing be used on the gt28r to essentially get a quicker spooling, higher flowing compromise between the two different turbos?

NO.
The .86AR housing from the GTiR won't bolt on to the ball bearing CHRA of the GT28R.
Even if it could, the turbine wheel of the GT28R is alot smaller than the GTiR, so you would have a big gap in the turbine housing which probably wouldn't work too well for spooling.
