I recently swapped a SR20DET into my 180sx, put in brand new NGK spark plugs and attempted to start. It sounds like it wants to turn over but it doesnt seem to be getting fuel, any ideas besides replacing the fuel pump?

hopefully you got a new fuel filter. why do you think its a fuel problem only??

Cause the engine is getting power, it has that sounds of just missing fuel for some reason.... What else could it be?

"sound of missing fuel", interesting. Why not pull a fuel hose and make certain first? If so, then we can help to track down the problem from there.

check the fuel line while ur cranking it or after and see if it feels if it has pressure. to do this bend the hose and squeeze it and if it feels like its pressing back on you its working. got Spark? Prove it with a very long screwdriver or a spark plug on some metal. anything else well check all ur gorunds buddy. also has the car started and ran before or has this car just been swapped and ur trying to get it started?

Check spark plug gap?
If you didn't get a new pump(some type of upgrade). I would reccomend it soon.

before you swapped in the new NGK plugs was it running?
make sure all of your harness connectors are snug. i had a similar problem but i immediately realized i didn't snap in my injector plugs and my CAS plug. tisk tisk.
try not to look over obvious things as well.
who did your harness? does your fuel pump power on?
just a reminder.....remember to keep your battery charged with all of this cranking and now charging.

Have you checked your timing???? Happened to me when I did my swap, didn't check the timing and when I tried to fire it up it was completely out of wack.
