Well, I know there are FSM to guide me on this, but I just wanted you guys' 2nd opinion about the cam timing I set on the KA..
the cams are BC v2 264.
Also.. the intake cam has the dowel pin lined up with the first lobe.
(I had to switch the two cams around)
Anyhow..
lmk guys..
Here are the pics assembled.

Ive done this many times. That yellow paint mark should go on the that bottom sprocket, there should be a dot on it just like on the cam sprockets. Then there are the dots on the cam sprockets, there are two hard to see marks on the chain(their two lighter colored links on the chain). So you got the yellow mark in the wrong spot. If this doesnt help let me know cause im doing this same thing right now on my KA and i can post detailed pics of how its supposed to be its really easy

i dont think the chain that goes from your crankshaft to the idler sprocket is matched up right either, that will really throw you off

Hm..
I didnt see any sort of markings for the lower timing chain and the only one I saw on the top chain was that yellow one.
I'll go pull it off and see how it looks back and front.
Mind posting pics of your setup???

yeah ill go take some pics. Their are a total of 5 markings and if you do not match up all of them thats not good. Ill go snap some shots give me a few minutes

Can you see the lighter colored links on the chain by the camshaft marks?

I figured if the upper timing chain lined up, the lower has to also be lined up as well.

From the pics it looks good to me, its important that the bottom is lined up too. I finished up my engine last night and its ready to go back in the car. Im starting a build thread when im done

when you say the bottom chain lines up as well you mean that the crank sprocket is on tdc?right? i just replaced the headgasket in my 95 and it wont start or starts the shuts off when i press the gas and i have low oil pressure. i changed out the press relieve valve next to the oil filter new filter and synthetic blend oil. nothing blocking the pickup screen and im pretty sure the the pump is fine. what should i do sorry to thread jack.
