Hi guys,

I have a somewhat odd request.

I am shopping for a new aerokit for my s14. I am looking for something decent, yet cost effective. When i search for kits, i see a range in prices.

I see:

authentic, which fit well, are expensive, and not what i'm looking to send/wait for (B&N, Uras, Jun, RocketBunny, Vertex)

knockoffs, marketed with 600-800 dollar pricetags and claimed to be "better quality" than ebay kits (versionSelect, AIT, etc)

and

Knockoffs, marketed on ebay, cheap etc (no name shit)

I previously owned a versionSELECT kit, which was decent, took a minor bit of modifying, and eventually fit well. With a little bit of sanding and priming the waves dissapeared.

I then owned a cheapo (same as most people) Works9 kit that seemed to fit and look just as good as the versionSELECT kit, yet it was only 600 bucks.

Now, im starting a new project, i am looking to do a complete "budget build weekender track" car. A guy in my local community is advertising great prices on AIT kits ... but still, the ebay kits are cheaper.

My questions are.

Are the AIT kits decent? good? please compare!

Are the ebay kits any good? my knockoff Works9 kit was fine... help!

Please Share your experiences with budget kits, because i feel biased

youre building a budget track car and youre worried about fitment? the quality will be good when you buy a quality branded product, generally. and...you answered your own question...

this is how they all are. and you are lucky to get the waves totally out. i buy what kit i like and looks best to me on my car. ive dealt with many, Origin, C-West, M-Sport, ChargeSpeed, Do-Luck, etc etc. personally, i wouldnt buy a kit off of ebay. if it gets damaged enough to where i want to return it, thats just going to be a hassle. but thats just me.

Most bodykits need finishing work to fit right and look good. The only ones that look good without finishing work would blow that budget for your "budget weekend track car" right out the window. I say buy whatever comes up at a good price. If you are really gonna track your car you will most likely break it eventually anyways.

this is a ebay kit on my old s13

i got it at wholesale through a buddy.

i didnt put the ait kit on, the car came with it.. but i think less work was involved fitting teh ait kit.. on the s13, i had to dremel cut off excessive fiberglass

i got some new jdm brand quality aero for my fc that im going to put on soon.... shit is crazy thin as hell.. So the cheaper kits that are from a US or knock off company seem to be more durable to street abuse in my opinion.

Alot of the cheap kits quality has gotten alot better over the years...

Edit- the AIT stuff looks very good

ait is garbage though. i had it once and there was a huge gap between the tail light garnish and the bumper. than with origin it fits a bit better, but needs less work to fit.

in all honesty i would reccomend version select or origin cause if you bash it up...what ever its cheap to replace

I prefer the ebay personally. Its a hit or miss on perfect fitment- but it will fit as well as how much time is put into it. Really just need to cut offf the excess fiberglass, drill holes, and sand it with a block to take out waves.

The ebay is much thicker than AIT / BMagic / Version Select. It takes more hits, which is good for a track car. Its also much cheaper.
