There are already preset holes on the firewall(from the inside) just measure the diameter of the holes.

ugh its been so long.. i want to say it was a 1 3/4" hole saw.. but dont quote me on it. I also had to use a right angle drill to get in there.. but as Shade said the firewall is stamped where the holes need to be.. just measure it.

not sure i guess you could try.

With the dash in it was a bitch to get in there.. i had a right angle cordless drill handy and it made it a 2 minute job.

I've never really tried with a regular drill i am sure most people use regular drills to do it though.

good luck.

You need 3/8" drill bit and 1 ½" hole saw. Yes, you have to use angled drill.

Yes, I used those bits and installed the cylinder. Holes are just perfect for the bolts and cylinder.

make sure you use a punch to mark the EXACT center of the large hole for the MC before you start drilling. then drill a pilot hole for maximum accuracy. and i didn't need an angle drill.

all i did was take off the rubber boot for the MC and took it with me to teh hardware store and got the appropriate sized hole saw.

You can use a regular drill if you remove the lower trim pieces and have a steady hand. Once you line up the center of the hole, just make sure you keep the drill on the center hole and you can drill it out at a slight angle. The slight angel will not affect the outcome of the hole. Just make sure and file the hole out to clean it up a bit. Worst case you use your dremel to clean out the holes if they turn out to be off center.

People have been cutting these holes for years....you can do it with minimal effort. Good luck.
