this is going to sound stupid. but how do you press a hub into a bearing? sounds easy but don't know since i've never done it before. i got 4 lugs in the rear of my 97 240 and the bearings are still good i just want to go 5 lug, and the bearings are the same, but how would i go about removing the 4 lug hub and then getting the 5 lug hub in there? any tips advice? pics? very much appreciated.

You need a press.
and when I have swapped hubs out of the bearings, I have split the bearings on accident. Honestly, if you are going to the work, I would just get new OEM bearings.

Or you can do that. I highly do not recommend it. Go get a press at Harbor Freight or something, they're not that expensive.

either buy the tool, or take it to a machine shop. your choice.

Bearing splitter fixes that. You can buy a cheap one for less than $20, or a whore service kit for about $50.

A local machine shop pressed my 5 lug rear hubs into the bearings for $7 each.
