Im looking for some opinions on what tire sizes I should run on my soon to ka-t. I know there are plenty of stickys on this stuff which I looked over. The car will basically be an all around car, but no drifting for me. I plan on mostly drag racing, but also some auto-x and I want it to look decent all at the same time.
Im already pretty set on fn01rc's 17x10 +12 in the rear and 17x9 +15 in the front. I have the b-magic widebody kit w/ 30mm overfenders for the rear to help with fitment. Id rather not run any negative camber if possible.
So, im thinking either 255/40-17 or 265/35-17 for the rear. And either 235/40-17 or 245/40-17 in the front. All of these are pretty close to the stock wheel diameter which is pretty important to me because I dont want to loose any acceleration due to larger dia. wheel/tire combo.

So, which combo would you guys run for a good compromise between handling, launching, accelerating, and looking pretty pimp all at once.

Oh, and car will be making ~350-400 hp on high boost... I hope.

Search the wheel fitment thread, tons of pics with wheel and tire specs too. Then you can decide what you want by actually seeing them on another car.

There are lots of stuff in those thread. But looking at pics is not always the best option.

I was running 10-12psi on a AMS GT32.

I run 235/40/17 on the front. Works good.

I have ran 255/40/17 RT615s. I needed way more grip. I now use a 275/40. Grip is better but it increase my understeer. I plan to switch to a 245 or 255 on the front when I need new front tires.

A good auto-x tire is ussually not the best drag tire. At least the RT615 is that way.
