^ no that's a good thing
When they start using the propper terminology, that is when you should be afraid, because then they can start specifically tailoring litigation and laws to rape "Drifting" not "Sideways turn brunouts" or whatevre they give tickets for now.

All and all I think we're doing pretty good as a community, I mean I've only seen maybe 5 articles about kids trying to "drift". Most have been front wheel drive cars. It's not like some kid drifted through an intersection killing a mom who was walking with here other kid and also slammed into a daycare killing other toddlers. Thats when we should be worried. *knocks on wood*

well heres anoher prime example of dumbass's in FWD cars that attempt to drift and end up destroying there cars and themselves at the same time, i agree with the trooper when he say" He apparently didn't do it very well," o well this is what what happens when you try to drift the undriftable you end up 200 ft down in a ditch and put you and your friends in the hospital

i wouldnt say a fwd cant powerslide cause if you use the same techniques as you do in a real drift you could make a fwd do exactly what a rwd car does maybe not as great.. but lets leave that to the pros....for now all beginners should buy a rwd car (not a smart car) first and then learn

Actually no...The very design of a fwd car eliminates Power sliding in the mannar in which you are thinking...
applying "power" in a FWD will correct a Rear wheel skid more surely than any other method. The reason your rear wheels slide is for WHATEVER reason they have substantially less grip than the front tires. By applying power, You take away the front tires available traction for cornering, and convert it into accelerating, with no more traction left to oppose lateral motion, the front tires will begin to slide on the same arc as the rear wheels ..HENCE the car STOPS rotating.
You cant drift /powerslide a FWD car...To get the same "motion" requires entirely different techniques that disqualify it as a "drift" IE you CANNOT sustain an oversteer slide with throttle and steering alone...You just cant...it is against the laws of physics in a FWD car...You can modulate the ebrake (constantly) AND floor the gas ..but thats just dragging your ass around.
"power" sliding in a FWD car = Understeer in the most general since, Because applying power causes the front tires to loose grip before the rears do...hence, the fronts take the widest arc, not the rears.
Sorry for bumping an old post..but i had to comment

dude.. you could fight this. I dont know what the state laws are there. But i did a burnout in my stang infront of my work. I seriously sat there doing the burnout for about 3-5 min. I just had bought new tires&wheels. But still had good tread on the rear tires. So ya.. long story short.. A police officer pulled up. Tried to write me a ticket.. (this same cop has given me 5 f'n tickets through the years..) so i went to court.. and long story short.. i was on private property. Had Written permission by the owner (had to buy this from my boss.. for 5 bucks.) and the cop was put on suspension for 2 weeks w/out pay for harrassment..:fawkd: haha..
but ya.. good thing that jetta wrecked.. FUCKIN IDIOTS who THINK they know how to drive!! :2f2f: Go to driving school.. LEARN.. FROM A PROFESSIONAL!!
