View Full Version : clanking noise when cranking engine

everytime i crank up the engine, there is always this noise (sounds like something hitting something in two revolutions) and it disappears after the engine is started. i have no clue what it could be. i keep looking at the engine and cant find anything that could be rubbing or anything.

do you have an upgraded flywheel? Sometimes that sound can come from the way that the starter / flywheel are meshing.

not that i know of but the previous owner had a 6puck unsprung clutch, which i think is starting to slip but i have no clue cause its really hard to balance at 1k. i always have to at least rev it to 1.5~2k to get it going.
