Simple diff casing question...

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but it doesn't hurt to have some confirmation. The differential casing for the S14 is the same as the J30...correct?

I ask this because my diff is leaking and its quite possible the rear gasket needs to be replace. So I figured I get one for the S14 straight from my dealership.

Correct. They can also order the J30 one though too, any Nissan dealer has access to Infiniti parts too. Felpro also makes one, and you can just use RTV, that's what I always use.

I forgot there was actually a gasket for that.

RTV works fine.

Yea. I've used RTV on all diffs i've taken apart, and works like a charm. Its fluid, so it'll fill all the gaps in itself.

I always seem to destroy the hell outta that gasket. Its overlooked all the time anyways.

Use RTV. And while you're at it, clean the living bajeezus outta the case and housing. Pressure washer FTW.
