View Full Version : Rack and Pinion bracket and bushing w/ bolts?!

Well yea guys, my steering problem was this bracket. It came loose and the bushing sucked. So now I need a new one, the only thing is that I can't find them. I have the bracket but need the bolts and the bolt has a special kind of FINE thread that I can't find. Even Nissan says they don't have those anymore. I need THREE of those rack and pinion bracket bolts and the bushing. Anyone know where to find one? I need it ASAP!!!

There's nothing special about them. M12x1.25 IIRC, about 40mm long. Your dealer is just lazy and doesn't want to look up such a small item.

You can easily pick em up at Autozone or even Home Depot/Lowes/Plumbing Supply Store.

Get the Energy Suspension rack and pinion bushings (the black ones). I just swapped mine in yesterday, super easy. I got mine from www.mynismo.com (http://www.mynismo.com) for $7 + shipping.

Is that the one that goes near the R&P bracket?

If you are referring to the bushings that go in the 2 brackets that hold your rack and pinion to the crossmember, then yes.

if you're too lazy just to drop by and check if autozone has it, you fail.

Go there yourself. Check it out. If they don't, just but a buttload of carb cleaner/engine degreaser/Removing-Anything-You-F*ing-Want Spray and head to the next place.

If you wanna go to a one-stop sure-shot place, Lowes.

It's the V or U shaped gromet. I'll check on mynismo though.

performance nissan says the V shaped bushing goes all around in two pieces. Hmm.

I wish I had the FSM. :(

GOt the bolts from LOWES.

Bitches were 12 bucks for three! Hot dayum. So yeah, just need to order the bushings, install my SPL tensions and alignment time!!!!!

Installed the bushings, SPL rods and was on the way to align it but found it out it's just about perfect. I love it. :} hahahah.
