well I'm planning on putting a DOHC into my s13 from an s14...due to my blown SOHC.. haha so i was wondering if the swap would be really hard and need any special tools? i don't have that much mechanical experience so this will be my first swap.. would you guys recommend this or should i just go try and find another SOHC.

From what I'm hearing the wiring sounds like the hardest part...

Do any of you guys know any DIY's on this subject? other than the one on nico.. just want to read as many diy's i can before i do the swap..

thanks guys

Sorry to tell you but its impossible. Many things aren't impossible in this world but a sohc to dohc swap is impossible, a proven fact. Some guy even took his car to nissan japan and they couldnt swap a dohc into a sohc.

Im sorry.:sadwavey:

^ how bout not posting if you don't do any research. Whether you get an OBD1 or OBD2 s14 engine the information is at your fingertips. Zilvia isn't the only 240 site for tech so don't limit yourself either.

I've done the swap as well...

90 S13 with a 95 S14 KA24DE...

What you need to know about the swap is:
1. You need the following parts from a 91-94 S13... Will cost about $300...
Engine wiring harness
Distributor
ECU
Power steering lines

2. The engine wiring harness will completely bolt up except for the dash plug... Just use the one off the SOHC motor and match the colors up... It's easy...

That's it... It's very easy...

damn $300!! fuck i may just stick with SOHC, a dohc swap is something i can't afford right now.. i am going to be trading my toyota for a KA24DE and only have $200 to spend on the harness and ecu.. so i would have to find GOOD ass prices..

This has been done many many times, and was apparently not searched before questioned, so I will kill it off now.
