Both motors have loads of potential. Stock vs. Stock the SR will hold more HP on stock internals. This is largely due to thicker piston ring lands than the KA. That said I am going KA-T.

Oh helllllll yeahhhh!!!! &nbsp;KA rocks the boat once again!! &nbsp;I wish they would have covered the sohc ka. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> I'd be curious to know if everything is the same except the head. &nbsp; It would explain why my truck almost never gets over temperature. &nbsp;(Piston oil squirters) &nbsp;Could be just the size and design too, but who knows.

Sorry the head bolts on the ka24et and ka24det will not line up. I know a few people were thinking about the DOHC head swap idea. But id turned out not to be feasible.

I am almost positive that Unstable-Hybrids has done the SOHC to DOHC swap. Check out their site in the projects section.

Yes the sohc to dohc motor swap is possible and common. BUT the heads cannot be swaped sohc to dohc. You have to swap the whole motor.
