i hate people. almost all of them. especially this guy.

we'll call him "idiot" so as not to name names.

i put my LT1 parts on craigslist last week, cuz i need to get rid of it.
soon enough, this idiot sent me email sayin he wants to trade me a radar detector and some other crap for the block. so i sent him email back sayin i don't need that stuff, just money, so sell that stuff and get back to me. and i gave him my phone number.

so a few days later on thursday he called me and said he had the cash and wanted to come pick it up on friday around 4. i said that's cool, i'll be around. he asked if i have a cherry picker. i said no, but i can get one.

then friday about 10am, idiot called and said he wants to come early, like 1. i said that's cool, just gotta take the comp cam out (cuz he didn't want the cam). so i spent the next few hours tearing the longblock down to a camless shortblock. in the meantime i couldn't get ahold of kenny with the picker. idiot called and said he forgot he had to pick up his daughter somewhere and wondered if he could come saturday. i said saturday's no good but i'm home the rest of friday. he said he was sorry to flake and promised he'd come get it. he agreed to come at 7. finally kenny called and said i could come get the picker, so i went to kenny's house and traded my car for his van and took the picker home.

7 rolled around, then 8 and 9, so i called idiot to see what was going on. no answer. called a few more times, no answer. time to go to the gym. kenny called while i was on the treadmill to ask when i was bringing the van back. i told him the guy hadn't come yet and i didn't know if he even was still coming.

saturday morning, idiot called and said he was in the ER all night cuz he though his daughter broke her ankle, and of course he left his cell phone in his truck. i started to think, is this guy just fucking with me? how fun can it possibly be to just pretend to be a buyer and constantly flake on people? i wanted to yell at him for wasting so much of my time, but then i wouldn't be able to sell it to him. he said he'd come sunday (today) at 10am. so i brought kenny's van back and got my car.

so i woke up at 10:30, had breakfast, and called his ass at 11. no answer of course. finally he called at 12 and said he'd been at the smog shop for 3 hours and his truck wouldn't pass, and now he was waiting for his friend with a picker, since i had to give kenny's back.

went and did some shit, and idiot called at 3 and said he got the picker, so he was on his way. i thought, wow is this really going to happen? he showed up at 4:30, inspected the block, said it was exactly what he needed, but didn't think the 1st gen water pump would bolt on (duh) so he wasn't sure if he could use it. i asked why he needed a first gen water pump and he said he was using it for his boat and that had a first gen 350 in it and some funky cooling system uses some modded water pump, and the LT1 water pump wouldn't mate up to that system.

so wtf, why wouldn't he figure that before he even emailed me in the first place?

he said he'd see if he could figure out how to mod the LT1 water pump to make it work and call me tomorrow.

anyone know about chevy powered boats?
are there different ways to hook up the cooling system or are they pretty much all the same..


my instinct tells me at most he'd just need some different kind of nipples pressed into the water pump or something, but i don't know how it hooks up, like if it's hose clamps on hoses, some threaded thing, AN fittings, something else?
