Well I am going to be getting a 240 sometime soon and need to know some stuff, at this point I pretty much ditched the idea of an SR, and will stick with a KA. I will be doing autocross and all, so I would prefer to have a low mileage KA, that I can also turbo in a year.

I don't know much about KA swaps since I have been researching mainly on SR. What price ranges am I looking at for a KA, and if I get the KA (most likely a 91), and put it in an 89-90 240sx, what will I need. Also will it be a simple drop in, or does it require more work due to it bieng a DOHC into an SOHC.

Also about how much will it cost for a shop to do it, I don't trust my self doing anything like this, and I dont have the parts to do the job

For a KA24DE i think you would spend about 300-600 dollars depending on the condition of the engine.  And to actually swap a DOHC into the SOHC would require as much work as swapping in a SR20 due to the wiring, power steering lines, vacuum lines etc..  Would cost around 1000 to have a shop do it for you.  I think theers a link at www.unstable-hybrids.com   about the sohc to dohc swap.
