View Full Version : car has been sitting for a year.. what to change?

so i'm going to buy a car that's been sitting for almost a year and i'm planning to change the:
battery
engine oil and filter
transmission oil
differential oil
fuel
my question is: what else should i change?
i've searched and this is as far as i've gotten... thanks in advance for all your help
flush coolent.
are you shure it runs? y was it sitting for so long?
diff oil you dont reallie need to.
same with tranny.
prime the oil pump.

give it a full tune up...and same as bo2o said, why has it been sitting for over a year? whats wrong with it?

I would also look at bleeding the brakes.

ya pretty much what they said just plugs wires oil ect.

haha.. yeah i'll give her a bath and a nice rub down too. she ran strong before the sitting. the owner just stopped driving it b/c he went to college. i know the guy so i trust the car.
