so my car is s14 manual stock KA. Whenever I tried to start the car, the first time I crank it nothing happen then I have to wait for couple seconds later, start it again then it will start but not smooth like a new car, I have to hold it at start longer than most people to get it going. Then recently, even my second try won't do anything, I have to give it a third or fourth try to get it going. Even worse, I have to hold the key in start position long time and wait for the engine to crank. Could you please direct me to what's the problem could be? thanks

light is bring, all electrical system works. if that any help at all.

your description is very vague to say the least

your problem could be...

1) you need a new ignition switch (if NOTHING happens when you try to start the car)

2) your clutch pressure sensor may be worn out

3) if your car keeps turning and turning...you may need to check out your fuel delivery system...fuel filter??? fuel injectors??? fouled spark plugs???

4) if your car cranks and jumps alot when trying to start...and idles VERY poorly...your timing may be way off...or your timing chain may be in bad condition...or your starter may be failing

please be a little more descriptive with your problem because there are ALOT of things that can cause the car to NOT start or to start poorly

also remember one thing too...these KA motors are getting VERY old and VERY beat up...if you dont do normal correction maintenance on them (ie: you get the car with 100,000+ miles on it from someone who didnt take car of the car)...youre not gonna have new car quality...plain and simple...KAs tend to be worn out motors as people never treated them well...you should do a major once over on your motor...check all your vacuum lines...replace all your sensors (knock, ECU water temp, 02 etc) as well as your spark plugs, plug wires...check the timing etc
