So I emailed my little cousin this morning after reading the 240sx SCC thread.  Downloaded those pages to see the article.  Thanks to whoever did that.  I don't remember.  My little cousin is about 13/14 right now, so he's getting close to being a driver.  Last birthday, or maybe it was Christmas I got him a subscription to SCC because I had read a few issues and it seemed like a decent publication.  Much better than Super Street or whatever.  I remember a certain editor letter regarding why he liked WRC so much.  Lately, I've been getting scared.

I emailed my cousin (fearing impressionability) and gave him all the info to explain why that 240sx in the article wasn't really fast.  Explaining wings for downforce vs. wings for weight and amp weight in stereos, etc.  Gave him a good education so he doesn't grow up to be the moron in the lowered 240 going, "Check my dubs, yo!"  Does anyone have an email address to SCC?  I'd like to tear them a new one for trying to poison the next generation and half of the current.  And I'm getting cranky.  SCC used to be a fairly decent magazine, but it seems to be going south.

No, it's not off topic, it's another thread spawned from that SCC article on the 240sx.

Anyhow, somebody has already written the editor and gotten an excellent response. . . Shouldn't happen again :-)

Well, I'd actually say it is off topic, so i'm going to move it to the OT section <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

chickenmanq, you sound like a responsible adult! props for giving your little cousing a good (car-related) upbringing! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
OTOH there was another thread here regarding the exact same thing, and apparently the editor (or, one of them) emailed back saying that certain upper-management (errr, upper-editorial) staff felt like they needed to include the odd not-so-performance-oriented article, to appeal to a wider audience.
In any case, it's good to hear that there are some of us who are educating tomorrow's s-chassis owners. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/satisfied.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':satisfied:'>
