If you are a college grad what is your degree in? Just thought it would be cool to see what disciplines people in here are interested in. I always imagined most of the college grads in here would be engineers of some sort or otherwise mechanically inclined. Curious to see how many people are Johnny streetracer outside of work but sit at a computer or in a business sort of environment. I myself am a Plastics Engineer.

as far as being a mechanic...cars are my hobby, a pretty serious hobby, but a hobby none the less. I get no satisfaction out of working on other peoples cars, i like building the car I drive lol. I'm not enough of a grease monkey to want to do people's oil changes for a living.

That's exactly how I feel.
I plan to major in something computer related, perhaps technical 3D design, it doesn't really matter what because I doubt I'll stick to it my whole life, but as long as you have a degree in anything it opens up many new job opportunities.

True dat. As it is now, I work on my car on the weekends. If I had to spend M-F 9-5 working on other people's cars, I wouldn't want to.

The only thing that gave me huge trouble in Biochem was restriction mapping. Organic was so much memorization it was INSANE. If you can make sense out of Organic then more power to you! :hyper:

majoring in Microbiology. Cool to see a lot of science guys. specifically im going to be doing protein research. checking out folding and misfolding. studying diseases like alzheimers which we recently found out is a protein misfolding and your own proteins becoming toxic in your brain. retroviral medications etc, a lot of biochem comes into play. taken organic chem and felt like that was easy compared to micro stuff and memorizing.

if you want to help us microbiologists out you can by going here
http://folding.stanford.edu/ and use your computer to process data when it's idle. join my team #35054

yay micro is the shyt!
