I've been needing a new mac for a while but don't have the money for a New G5. Has anyone Built or experimenting with running OSX on a PC?

Yeah 6 has full Unicode support so it should work.

It seems pretty sketchy to me. I have a computer that I just purchased that I'm sure could run it well but I've heard that you have to wait longer for updates and there are other odd things about it that would drive me insane.

i've set up a friend's pc to dual boot. unfortunately i'm dedicated to AMD and can't do it to my own... i'd really like to be able to use final cut. other than that... who cares. it's showy junk designed to sell showy laptops, and the old "designers need macs" cliche just isn't valid anymore now that multi-core processors are everywhere, and macs just use intel chips anyway

I played with osx86 a bit to see what its like. I sucessfully installed 10.4.10 on my AMD machine. After that, I was like : "cool" and I returned to XP. It's just an OS like any other...

My mobo is a DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-d (nvidia nforce4 ultra chipset)
cpu is AMD opteron 165

the release I used was Tubgirl 10.4.10 AMD SSE3. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=57449&hl=tubgirl+10.4.10

I only had some problems with the keyboard, you need to use both a PS/2 keyboard and mouse or the keyboard doesn't work
