Hi I just got my new project running but the engine make a constant growling noise. Upon further inspection I found a piece of plastic with a brass insert in the valley by the cams. i took some pics but there a little crappy. does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Funny. Ive seen that before... but I dont remember where thats from.
All i know is that my car doesnt have it anymore.
Either way, it shouldnt be anywhere near your cams.

Cancer. Inoperable, incurable cancer. Hold your motor close and whisper sweet nothings into the valve cover, and give it the good ol' Notebook ending.
No clue what it is, but I read a post with a similar problem a while back. Make a necklace?

Did you have some timing chain rattle before it started growling? How many miles on the motor?

Thats one of the "harness protector" (black plastic thing) washers that sits right over the fuel rail.

the engine has about 69K. I don't know if the chain rattled before b-cuz it didn't run wen I bought the car.
