Alright searched and found nothing
Im wondering what all "yall" people who have carbon fiber hoods use to clean it and make it look brand new again!
I have a cf hod and it has a couple what i wanna call "oxidation" marks on the hood. I usually clay bar and wax but I wanna know what everyone on here does?!
thanks!

Wax it to prolong it. I don't know of any way that will keep it from turning yellow or fading. Also you could reclear it.

On this topic:
What do those of you with CF hoods use to protect them from the heat of the turbo? I have a topmount and dont want to wreck my hood, when they show up.........
no personal experience but I remember seeing a thread where they
wetsanded with fine grain than wax and buff
looked brand new again

i clay, polish, and wax. i treat CF pieces just like the rest of the body.
ive seen people put heat shield material under/on their hood, but more often times i just see nothing. i know a few people with top mounts that didnt throw anything on the hood, including the falken/silk road s13.5

^I was thinking of that. I have some stuff I have on my floor boards that is used on firewalls.
I also was thinking of making this:

Before I spaced my hood, if it was raining, my hood would steam.

carbon fiber hoods are gel coated, this isnt the same as a normal clearcoat, what you should do is go to a boating store, and buy cleaning products for boats, boats use the same gel coat as carbon fiber. this is the best way to keep your cf hood looking new.

LongGrain is right about the gel coat. First thing you should do when you get the hood is have a clear coat put on or paint it to match the car.
