Has anyone had any NEGATIVE experience with copper exhaust manifold gaskets?
I've been reading some people saying to just use OEM and then I've read some people say to use a copper gasket.
The Felpro one(s) I have on there now is leaking. It's 4 seperate ones, not one piece.
EDIT: If it matters: KA24DE and it would be used with an aftermarket header.

Copper work great against high heat and especially if they are crush style (basically one use)
my favorte is the Nissan multi-layer exhuast mani gasket
it is stainless steel and I spray it down with a light coat before installing it
You can reuse it a LOT too

+1 for the multilayer OE gasket. Being able to reuse it is great.

I use the copper ones. its a PITA trying to get all 4 of the gaskets to stay in place when putting stuff on.

Yeah, tell me about it...and try spraying copper gasket on all 4 of them THEN trying to keep them in place :(
Are the oem ones 1 or 4 pieces?

The OE is multiple layers, but it is rivited together making it one piece.

+1 on the multilayer gasket, which is the S15 SR gasket. I believe S13 and S14 are only single-layered.

I'm pretty confident that is correct.

I didn't think the copper gaskets were "cheap". Just an alternate to paper gaskets.
Guys, remember this is going on a KA24DE.

been using copper gasket when i swapped out headers. its been on for 2 + years with no leaks, and stated b4 its reusable!
cheap copper gaskets? my single copper exhaust gasket is probably more $ then an single OEM nissan exhaust gasket.
as long as you not F***'in with the ebay gaskets that come with their ebay mani's, then oem or copper should be fine for any application.
