Bought it in December 07 when it was red. Painted it white. I ride this to school when it isn't raining, but am selling it to make a dent in a loan I took out.

1988 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6 (600r)
White
68k miles
Runs well
Starts every time quickly
Liquid cooled

All Problems:
Key doesnt stay in the key cylinder. I turn the bike on with the key, then remove the key and put it in my pocket, then use the key to turn off the bike when I'm off.
Few paint oversprays.
Have to hold the choke to cold start the bike. Its an 88.
Clutch side blinker is epoxied on
Clutch side rear panel has a 2-3-inch crack in the corner.

$1300 please - Location - Riverside.

I also have some gear to sell with the bike If/When the bike is sold including Joe Rocket Sonic Jacket (all black), kevlar fiber gloves, and a Large Scorpian EXO 400 helmet (black/silver) which are all in a like-new condition. $200, $40, $150 respectively.

i'm sure it has been dropped in its past 20 years of existence. those are all the pics i have.

from what I can tell, the bike has never been crashed (low sided or high sided) .. but there is cracked plastic, so I can only assume it has been dropped (that and age). I have had the whole bike apart and could not find broken welds or strange bends.

i'm the culprit who broke the turn signal having it catch on my leg while trying to get through the mess that is my garage. Its epoxied on. Its not the prettiest of bikes, but it gets me from A to B.

bump for a good old bike.

is it rattle canned white?
how does it hold up going about 80mph?
whats the longest you've ridden with it?
valve and carbs good? dont need tuning/cleaning?

The longest I've personally ridden on it was maybe 50mi? Holds up fine going 80mph. It is rattle canned, but I gave it candy coats, so its shiney. The carbs could probably use a tune as the guy that owned it before me lived 2000ft above sea level ... but I'm in riverside and haven't had a problem ... tuning would probably make it run slightly more efficient.

The guy who owned it before me was an airplane builder (seriously) and took care of most of the problems with the bike (minus the key cylinder). He sold it to me with a spare set of brakes, which will come with the bike. He didn't install them because when he opened up the calipers, the brakes were similar to the newly packaged ones. From his word, he rode it to Utah and back on a weekend trip without problems. I don't see that being farfetched, as you have older/aircooled bikes making longer journeys. I've only personally ridden this around town.

I forgot to mention before, the gas gauge works sometimes. There is, however, a reserve tank toggle that has gotten me out of sticky situations due to the gas gauge not working.
