Hey whats up everyone? I decided I should post up my project two tone coupe Ive been working on for the past few months. I bought the car about a year ago for $750 in good condition with only some minor dents. It was an automatic with a sohc and has 116,000 original miles, but I have already pulled the motor and started on my dohc 5 speed swap. I have an s14 motor with about 80-90k on it and all the 5 speed parts I need, so thats one less thing to worry about.
Here is how the car sits of now except now the pignose front end is off and ready for a silvia front end.http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/2069/twotonecoupe007yo3.jpg
Right now Im fixing the only rust spot on the car, which is all around the existing battery tray. I will get pics of the steel I welded in that has been smoothed out with bondo. I also started on pulling everything from the engine bay and masking off some things to get ready to primer and paint, I will show the steps of that later.

Thanks everyone, if I get a chance to work on her today I will definatly get some more updated pics. I know I cleaned the bay pretty good, but I had to paint the passenger side so I just decided heck with it and paint the whole thing gunmetal. I think it should turn out well. Keep the comments comming.

Thanks for all the positive feedback, I love two tone coupes and will never change the color. More people should preserve them instead of painting them another color or having them crushed. This car is very clean inside and out and the only downside was the little rust and some small dents. I really got a great deal on this car and I just cant wait to get her up and going again, but with more power and a 5 speed.

just as advice...sit in front of your engine bay..observe it for a while and think of ways to clean it up, re-route things, make it better, rust repair, anything like that. i regret not taking more time in there, now there's a damm engine in the way lol.
but i did a swap similar to yours. have fun!!

I might be able to help you out on getting a front end, but I dont know what it will cost to ship everything. Yeah I saw your build thread as well, nice work. Are you going to use the auto lower tranny harness?

oh cool, yeah let me know about the silvia front end. as for the tranny harness, me and my friend pretty much swapped the whole auto front engine harness with a manual front engine harness from the firewall forward. i was gona do the wiring, but he decided to swap the sohc auto into his other car, so i got pretty much everything i needed for the swap with no wiring needed... but im thinking of extending the wiring to tuck and hide all the harness.
