A few weeks back I put on my random technology high flow cat and the apexi n1 dual exhaust. When the piping gets heated up and im at idle, it sounds like a sputtering is coming from where the exhaust piping after the cat meets the cat (that sounds like poor grammer ). Anyways I dont see any air coming out between them. i have used 2 diff gaskets to check and also changed the bolts to 17mm to fill the bolt holes where you screw them in a little better than the stock 14mm size.

Any ideas? The bolts are tight as hell as I used my torque wrench on it with a pretty high setting. Is there something else I can use in conjunction with a new gasket to make sure im getting a total seal? Or is there something else someone may know that Im missing.

well unless your burning oil or coolant it would be kinda hard to see the leak. i say you jack up the car and feel for it.

it could be the cat just being less restrictive that your not use to causing the sound.

I think you may be right cause im not burning anything. Ive gotten under there and put my hard near it and couldnt feel any air coming out. When I rev it, you cant hear it at all. I know the cfm rating on the high flow cat is much higher than the stock and at idle it may not be putting out enough air.

Thanks for the tip though. If anyone else wants to suggest anything feel free to do so.
