k so i have rear overfenders for my s13 hatch and i want to mold them but i dont want them to crack so i was thinking that maybe i can just cut the rear quarter panels off another s13 hatch and shape them to the same contour as the over fenders (thinking english wheel?) and tack them on to get a smooth molded finished product... what do you all think?

so you want to make custom metal wide fenders? using the current over-fenders you have as a template...

or am I not understanding your question?

Long explanation made short, it'd be a bad idea. Over-fenders look sick just riveted on and painted, don't mold it and don't try to replicate it. You're just asking for way more work than is necessary and you'll come out with two sides that look completely different while still looking awful.

Just pop that bitch on there, and call her a day!

I agree with this 100% I wanted to mold the overfenders on my car, but it wasn't worth the hastle. They're currently being riveted on for true badassness.

if you have mad fab skills, metal overfenders ftw! unless ur jesse james, or someone with that level of metal shaping experience, its going to turn out like shit. Wayne huffer, on the other hand, does have the skills. this is his ALL METAL widebody s13. i wish i could find more pix of it. i have this issue of banzai but i don't have a scanner.

You can't shape a regular quarterpanel and expect it to "stretch" to fit stock mounting points, the metal's just too thin. If you want molded overfenders, go to a bodyshop and tell them - they do that shit all the time. Or, you can try and just bondo/sand over your rivets. Either way, it'll look okay, but in this scene, riveted overfenders are normal and look good.
