im running a a 2871r .64, 17lbs, 264 I/E cams and was wondering if my open diff will greatly decrease my time, im looking for 12's on street tires, full interior and was wondering if getting an lsd would be a good purchase, is it needed? i plan on getting one but money is tight now, so i was wondering it if was something i could put off for awhile. and still get some 12sec passes
also been looking at changing the final drive, buy a longer and shorter one, and just swap them out and see what they do for time changes.
thanks

the simple answer:
get an LSD. If you go to the drag strip you'll notice everyone making good times have one. It will do nothing but help.

It's all about the hook and traction in DR so Welded or LSD would help. If it's a track only car, weld it. If it's a street car get a LSD.

I agree. You can run a welded on a dd no problem though. You can't go wrong with the weldy, it's cheap, and it's super predictable.

Even a VLSD
For street tires, do not get hard tires like the RT615. You will just burn them up.
I have a LSD and look at the times in my Sig.

for drag just weld it up... unless its a daily driver i would recommend reading about the sideeffects...

yeah, weld it
2 tires getting traction is gonna hook better than one.
I do auto cross and drift. I could instantly tell going from open to VLAD, to welded. everytime, my launches felt more and more solid.
