normally timing chained engines dun have a timing problem...but i think its time for u to bust out the timing gun...that or run higher octane cheapo <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>
Just a heads up: I've generally been recommended against using fuel injector cleaner that you just dump into your gas tank; apparently they don't do good things for our O-rings and such, whereas big american cars don't have such delicate/high-tech parts. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>
Also, consider changing your air filter... that's all I can think of unless someone pulled timing back on the car... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> Good luck!
(and yes, a better description of how the car's running "badly" would help!<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/eh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':eh:'> you're confusing me with this post...you say your car is running bad.....then you say you have more power than ever before at the end of the post... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> ....

could it be that the air intake pipe near the throttle body is loose, leaking air? Happened to one of my friends car and all we did was tighten problem solved hope this helps <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

im running 91 octane , its not the gas , i only buy chevron , i just had a distributer put in , which when they do that they adjust the timing it isnt the timing , could it be some kind of sensor? i replaced the pcv valve and the o2 sensor on the header also , i have done almost everything

its sputtering under load when i first hit the throttle it will lag for a second then finally stop backfiring and sputtering , then run fine all the way up the powerband, it doesnt do it for that long it does it for about 2 seconds , then it stops , but it happens every time i hit the damn throttle ... and i have a check engine light on that wont go off ... i cleaned the throttle body changed plugs wires , fuel filter oil change , a new distributer , and a new cap and rotor also , and a new o2 sensor on the header , and a new pcv valve ,you name it i have replaced it ... any ideas?

Could it possibly be poor cylinder compression?

But then again, you might be better off taking it to a shop and having them take a look at it....If you say you've replaced everything that could possibly wrong and the motor still isn't running strong....then there could be a serious problem. Just curious..what's your car's mileage?

If your check engine light is on, you need to check your ECU to see what code it's giving you. Prolly shoulda done that at the start and saved yourself the hassle <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

i did the self diagnostic , it threw 2 codes , one was 25 , and the other was 55 , what do they mean ? and would those things have anything to do with the problem ?

codes:
http://www.zilvia.net/f/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=6;t=10141
25 = Idle speed control valve circuit is open or shorted
35 = Exhaust gas temperature sensor (California models)

idle speed control - yeah, this could definitely do it. Check all the vacuum and electrical connections to the IAA valve. If they're okay, then check the IAA valve itself.
code 55 is just a signal that there are no more codes...
