I was driving my 240 with sr20det, it occasionally stutters at really low rpms(bellow 700)

on this drive at low rpms(1000-1500) in 2nd around a corner it bucked a few times. about a mile later...

Towards my home i was crusing and the tach dropped, probably because the car died, idk what happened, but i smelt burnt something, now the car turns over but doesn't start. :-/

UPDATE:
i went to start the car, and the battery was getting weak, i went to jump it and now it cranks slowly a few times and then makes a clicking sound. Its like the batteries not getting jumped.

I'm reading the FSM about diagnosing, how do i get the car to disply the trouble codes, so i have to have some sort of diagnostics device? Is there easier ways to check for problems, it seems like theres so many things that could be wrong, and idk where to start. the sad part is its probably a simple problem that i cant find or fix. dunno.

Not recently, i bleed the brakes, i had to remove the transmission and replace the throw out bearing clips in the fall, which were unclipped causing it to grind into 3rd. It still grinds after the fix, AND it makes a slight griding sound when in neutral when the clutch was out, like something scraping and spinning in the transmission.

nah, all the electrical works, and the alternator looks normal.

well, everything looks normal, i think its not getting fuel, or i flooded it or something, how do i go about diagnosing that...

or what else should i check...i pretty much just checked the connections to make sure nothing came undone. dunno, because it worked the other day.

Check your fuel pump connection in hatch/trunk. See if something unplugged it. Make sure it turns on...All grounds connected? CHeck your plugs.

does it mostly happen while taking a turn or something? it sounds like something is loose. you should really just check the basics. make sure your harness is securely plugged into your ECU. i had a wierd problem like that once and it ended up being that! check for loose wires/connections too, that doesn't take too long.

when was the last time you did a tune-up? give her some new plugs and a z32 fuel filter.

i'm not sure what you meant by this, but does your engine idle at 700? because it should be idling ~800-850.

it happens whenever depending where the rpms are, i just happened to be at low rpms around that turn, and when the car died, i'm not sure what it idles at, when i let the rpms drop below the idel, the rpms sort of struggle to go up till it passes a certain point idk. I'll double check everything.

Well, before you come and ask us what's wrong, check to make sure you have fuel and fire. That narrows things down a bunch.

spark, fuel, air....in that order

how do i check for those :o

I could probably search but i'm guessing its not difficult to explain.

If everyone kept asking questions that are easy to explain, their'd be no need to keep old threads. They're there for reference so people don't have to keep asking to explain the same processes on a daily basis.

alright, i'll search, and probably fix it tomorrow, i'm just saying, instead of people saying "search, or its this and this...search" they could be like "you do this and then this, and then you can figure out whats wrong" seems like it would be more helpful.

i'm not gonna complain because when i know how to do these things, i'm not even gonna waste my time reading threads by people learning as myself :o dunno.

edit: also i'm just looking for the easy way out, i dont like spending my time searching random threads for simple information.

well, idk, i'm useless, i'm just trying to fix my car so i can sell it(apparantly no one wants to buy a car that needs work dunno), i'm out of the nismo game until i can do things right, in the mean time i'd appreciate help, although its not necessary.

You can't jump a fried battery.... I wont' hold current or charge. Replace it and try again. And if you know the battery is leaking, don't jump it, asking for more leakage and problems.

I believe it is error codes that you twist the screw on teh ecu all the way ccw and then back to the original position. It should flash..... I think heavythrottle has ecu check instructions. If not, lemme know.
